Art Recipe Challenge May 4th

About a year ago I joined an art swap and happy mail group. I’ve really enjoyed the prompts and themes because it has pushed me to try new techniques and supplies.

The admins have started a new Art Recipe Challenge where a list of supplies, techniques, etc are listed and you create from that. I signed up to do the challenge ahead of when it’s posted in the group so others can see the list in action.

The challenge included the following:

1. Gelli plate and/or gelli prints

I used a 1/4 inch piece of craft foam to make monoprints.

2. Stamping

I used hand made stamps that I cut out of craft foam.

3. Book pages

I used pages from a thrifted book. I cut out the letters to the word “MAGIC”.

4. Opaque pens/markers.

I used white & black Uniball Signo pens and a black Pitt Pen.

I used a brayer to spread paint onto a piece of craft foam.

I used stencils, stamps and found objects to make marks in the paint. Then press paper on top and peel up.

My finished prints , stamps, book pages, opaque pens and markers and canvas.

I tore the prints into pieces and glued to the canvas. imageI used my my hand made foam stamps and paint to add over top the prints.

I doodled over the stamped marks with a Uniball Signo in white and black.

I drew out letters on the book pages, cut out and then glued on top. imageimageI used a Pitt Pen black marker to trace the letters and then doodled with the white pen again.

Art Journal Fun

I’ve been art journaling my whole life but just recently started calling it that.

This year I decided to follow a year long prompt group.
The Original Documented Life Project was created by the artists at Art to the 5th.
This year they suggested the Dylusions Creative Journal to work in.

I’ve completed the last 6 weeks of prompts and hope to work on week 7 tomorrow when it’s posted.

I’m sharing my steps with photos on the prompt for week 6.

Wishcasting Wednesday: What do I wish to Jump in to?

Last week I joined the tribe of  Wishcasters.

Every Wednesday we post to our blogs, we answer a question, and then we all visit each other and leave a comment like “As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you as well.” We connect. We grow. We manifest.

This beautiful day we are asked: What do you wish to jump into?

I wish to jump into Trust.

I’m doing some powerful Soulwork and I am learning how to trust the unknown.

I want to Trust in my art, my relationships, my dreams, my  potential.

I want to Trust that my fears will take me to the other side.

Blessings ❤

Jessica

Wishcasting Wednesday: What do I wish to experience?

I’m joining the tribe of  Wishcasters.

Every Wednesday we post to our blogs, we answer a question, and then we all visit each other and leave a comment like “As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you as well.” We connect. We grow. We manifest.

This beautiful day we are asked: What do you wish to experience?

I wish to continue Growing.

The seasons have changed again and again.

I’m noticing the seasons of my life much clearer and learning from them everyday.

I am ready for the next season and so very grateful for the path I’ve taken.

I’m looking to the East and nourishing my seeds.

Blessings ❤

Spring is here.

I’m feeling very blessed to be able to participate in Pixie Campbell’s Spring SouLodge. I was gifted the course by an anonymous sponsor! So wonderful. Thank you mystery lightbeing!

Let’s all be Wild Women!

I was born in the East, so shall it all begin in the East.

Recipe: Squash Casserole

This recipe was shared by a fellow Goddess Circle sister, Carli.

Squash Casserole

2 Cups cooked mashed yellow squash

2 Cups Ritz crackers (crushed)
1 Cup evaporated milk
1 Cup shredded cheese (cheddar)
1/2 Cup chopped onion
2 eggs (lightly beaten)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
pinch of sugar
5 Tablespoons butter
In large bowl, place squash, cracker crumbs, evaporated milk, cheese and onion. Stir well. Then stir in eggs, salt, pepper, sugar, and butter. Pour into 1 qt casserole dish. Bake 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
This is SOOOO good. Since it calls for so much butter, I make sure to use light butter. Also spray the dish beforehand.

It is so yummy! Thanks for sharing!
I substituted the evaporated milk for coconut milk  and used less butter.
I added this recipe to my menu while doing the Radiant Goddess course again.
